Volunteering Programme
Silver Stream Healthcare Group accepts volunteers through our Volunteer Programme.
We have weekly visits from established volunteers, who provide companionship for residents. We also have a number of volunteers in the vetting process who are awaiting clearance to begin volunteering.
We have close links with local schools whose students visit weekly, during the academic year. Students are excellent volunteers in the residential care environment as the programme facilitates intergenerational communication which is beneficial to both younger and older people. Volunteers offer companionship and will often undertake a project or introduce a new initiative under the supervision of a senior Care Team member.
Residents also benefit from close community links, with local entertainment, drama and choir groups regularly visiting.
We welcome all relatives, friends and visitors to any of our homes to become a volunteer. Any contribution, no matter how great or small is appreciated by residents. Volunteering can be as simple as reading a newspaper to a group of residents to teaching a class on flower arranging.
All volunteers are subject to Garda Vetting and must comply with Silver Stream Healthcare Group’s Volunteer Programme Policy and Guidelines.
